DenverCO –  January 13, 2012 – It’s the most barked about event of the year – on January 21, the Zoom Room® will celebrate the social aspect of dog ownership throughout Denver with the grand opening of its new training center. Zoom Room Denver, a sporty indoor dog gym that offers agility training and innovative group classes, opens Saturday, January 21 at 1165 South Broadway.

Denver dogs – and their owners – will enjoy an entire day of engaging activities, including a free caricaturist providing pup portraits, free dog agility classes in the morning and a Doggy Disco® party from 4 PM to 7 PM. The party will serve as a fundraiser for the Dumb Friends League, which is near and dear to the hearts of all animal lovers throughoutColorado. The Zoom Room will donate $10 for every advance RSVP, plus 10% of the day's sales to the largest animal welfare organization in the Rocky Mountain region. The day's events are free, but require advance registration here.

Denver is the perfect city for Zoom Room,” said Kathy Thorpe, owner of Zoom Room Denver. “People here love to be active, they love their dogs, and they love to be active with their dogs. Being able to help the Dumb Friends League through the grand opening event adds a level of joy and fulfillment for me personally, but I think also for the community that wants to help these animals find their own forever homes.”

Founded in 1910, the Dumb Friends League is a national leader in providing humane care to lost and abandoned animals, rescuing sick, injured and abused animals, adopting pets to new homes, helping pets stay in homes, and educating pet owners and the public about the needs of companion animals.

“The Dumb Friends League is a big proponent of humane education, for both pets and owners,” said Chris Gallegos, Public Relations Manager for the Dumb Friends League. “Businesses like Zoom Room provide that service, helping create stronger, life-long bonds between pet and owner.”

At the Zoom Room Denver, owners will learn how to teach their dog everything from agility, obedience and therapy dog training, to puppy preschool, scent tracking, shy dog training for rescue dogs and other activities, giving not only the dog a workout, but the owners as well. In addition to group and private classes, the Zoom Room serves as a dedicated event center for dog birthday parties, charitable fundraisers and other canine events. Denver dog owners will also enjoy the carefully-curated selection of solution-oriented pet retail products, including training gear, all-natural treats, eco-friendly toys and puzzles, and hand-crafted leather leashes.

The original Zoom Room opened in Culver CityCalif. in 2007 and was founded by Los AngelesCalif. dog training expert Jaime Van Wye. As a sporty, eco-friendly and fresh approach to dog training, the Zoom Room is the fastest-growing pet franchise in the U.S. and a thriving leader in the $48 billion pet industry.
