Meet Charlie and Newman

I got a chance to meet Charlie and Newman this week.  They are two wonderful dogs that hang out at the new Zoom Room in Denver.  


The Zoom Room is owned and operated by Kathy Thorpe.  Kathy has had Charlie about six years and  Newman joined their family this past fall.  Both Charlie and Newman are learning to be shop dogs and spend their day at the Zoom Room helping Kathy with her daily routine.


The Zoom Room is an indoor agility facility designed for the beginner.  They offer an array of classes from shy dog and puppy preschool to agility and tricks.



Kathy and Charlie demonstrated how both dog and owner work together to complete the course.  Charlie is still learning the different pieces of equipment, so I got a chance to watch Kathy training Charlie.  She uses positive reinforcement with lots of praise.  Charlie was allowed to get used to the equipment and work at his own pace.  He gained confidence in himself and trust in Kathy as she guided him through the course.
