Puppy Up! Walk Denver 2011

Hello!

I would like to say thank you for making The Puppy Up! Fort Collins Walk a huge success last year. Because of you, Fort Collins was the number one fundraiser in the country and we had the privilege of having Luke, Hudson and Murphy walk with us. This year The Puppy Up! Walk is going to be held in Denver. I would like to invite you to join us at The Puppy Up! Denver Walk at Stapleton Central Park in Denver on Nov. 6. The proceeds we raise will benefit 2 Million Dogs and lead to improvements in cancer treatments for people and pets with cancer. 2 Million Dogs is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization committed to discovering the links between canine and human cancers and their causes through comparative oncology research.

The Puppy Up! Denver Walk will begin with an opening ceremony that is followed by a 2 mile walk. At the conclusion of the walk, we will have human and canine entertainment, prizes, contests, vendor booths and more. You can stay informed about the exciting developments by liking The First Puppy Up! Denver Walk 2011 on facebook and by following PuppyUpDenver on twitter.

We would also like to encourage you to SIGN UP BEFORE MIDNIGHT EST ON OCT. 22. Luke , Hudson and his new puppy, Indy, wil be walking in the city that has raised the most money by that time. ( For those of you who don't know, the 2 Million Dogs organization suffered a great loss when Murphy lost his battle with nasal cancer in June of this year. )

A CANCER-FREE WORLD STARTS WITH ONE MILE, ONE DOG AT A TIME.

Bulloween

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Rover Retreat to Host Bulloween Party for Third Year

Metro Denver’s premier non-traditional dog day care and boarding kennel announces the annual English bulldog costume contest and fun play date for the dogs and their owners, with proceeds going to bulldog rescue.

GOLDEN, CO —October 11, 2011—A steadfast supporter of animal rescue, Rover Retreat is hosting the Bulldog Club of Denver‘s (BCD) Bulloween party for the third consecutive year on Sunday, October 30, 2011 at 17731 W. Colfax Avenue in Golden.

From 11:30 a.m. through 1 p.m., Bulloween events will include a costume contest with prizes and snacks. The cost is $5.00 per family, with all proceeds collected to be matched by BCD and utilized for local rescue efforts by the Bulldog Club of America Rescue Network.

The objective of the Rescue Network is to accept stray or abandoned bulldogs, or those whose owners can no longer keep them, and find loving, stable homes for them. The group provides foster homes, training, and medical treatment when necessary. Prospective new homes are carefully screened, and prospective adopters are fully informed about the breed and each dog’s special needs. Before placement, rescue bulldogs are spayed or neutered to reduce overpopulation.

Therese Morin, owner of Rover Retreat, looks forward to hosting Bulloween each year. “My favorite part is watching the bulldogs running around and playing in costume,” she said. “We also have fun activities planned, so please feel free to join us and support bulldog rescue.”

Guests are asked to bring a snack to share and a chair, if possible. Drinks and tableware will be provided. Anyone wishing to attend is asked to RSVP with the number of humans and dogs by Wednesday, October 26 to Nancy Brown at 720-290-3546.

About The Bulldog Club of Denver:

The Bulldog Club of Denver (BCD) is a nonprofit organization whose members include professional English bulldog breeders and veterinarians, as well as anyone who owns or loves the breed. BCD hosts an annual specialty show and a variety of events, classes, and matches throughout the year. Their goal is to uphold the English bulldog ideal through education, competition, and fellowship. The Bulldog Club of Denver does not sell dogs or advertise puppies for sale.

For more information about the Bulldog Club of Denver, visit their website at www.bcod.org.

About Rover Retreat:
